my question is, is how far will/can this rangefinder range game animals at?? deer, elk, cyotes?
A Not very far. The beam divergence is rather large on the 2 examples I have had the opportunity to try. That means that at extended distances the beam is wider than the game animal you are trying to range, so it ranges the vegetation and rocks, hills, etc. behind the game animal and therefore gives you an inaccurate reading. If you want a rangefinder that is fairly small and light and actually works well for hunting, try the Leica CRF.
